Faith in Action: Evangelism and Discipleship Outreach

In the word of God in Matthew 28:18-20, God commands us to make disciples of all nations and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Jesus also commanded us to teach these new believers everything that He commanded His disciples.  Jesus wanted the new believers to look like His disciples. It was to be an unbroken chain of discipleship.  Jesus didn’t just come down from heaven to forgive us.  He came down as a man to be an example for us on how to live in right relationship with God.  Jesus wants to reproduce Himself in us.  Jesus, by His power, wants to clean us, forgive us, and transform us into men and women of God who look like Jesus.

As part of the training, we teach them that the Holy Spirit lives in them and that God wants to use them to help others. Once they understand what the word of God teaches, we ask them to pray for the sick in their congregation, and that is when God shows up. God uses the common believer to heal their brother and sisters. Most of these believers have never prayed for the sick before, but God uses them. Almost all of the sick were instantly healed.
